Working Plan

In order to achieve these goals the CSA will be composed of three sequential phases that are explicitly aligned to the aims of the CSA.

Table of Working-Plan

Project Phases

Phase 1: Reliable information base

In Phase 1 we will assess the current situation of the IB in Europe (“where do we stand?”), and provide an outlook on the potential developments in the short/middle term of 5 to 10 years. This will include an extensive information collection (indicators, modelling qualitative assessments) and analysis of the innovation potentials, opportunities, demand drivers, barriers, risks that are likely to occur in the short/ medium term.

Phase 2: Transparent vision

In Phase 2 we will elaborate potential desirable, realistically achievable future paths for the various value chains for IB. These will eventually be combined into an integrated vision for the future of IB in Europe. These steps will be based on information gathered in phase one together with an extensive integration of stakeholder knowledge and perspectives.

Phase 3: R&D&I needs and actions

In Phase 3 we will deduce the future R&D&I needs, related innovation topics and needs of actions to put into action the prospects/. As prerequisite for Europe to remain in a leadership position in the global competition in IB industry in the future, interregional and international collaborations will have to be intensified. Therefore, we will identify collaboration opportunities, beneficial framework conditions to incentivize cross-country collaboration as well as potential strategies for country groups with regard to their capacities.
